Adventure Day :: Atlanta
One of the things that Dustin and I have in common is our love of old things. We have very few days off together on the weekends, and when we do, we usually take the opportunity to find new places to explore. When we lived in Tennessee, we started a tradition we call “Adventure Day”. On a day off together, we decide on a town that we aren’t familiar with. We set out with my GPS, and search for local junk stores and antique treasures. Our favorite places are the dust covered, hole-in-the-wall spots that most people might over look.
On Memorial Day – and our 2 year wedding anniversary – we set out on an Adventure Day. We’ve been in Georgia for almost a year now, and we decided it was finally time to venture into Atlanta in search for our treasure. Here are some photos from our day.
Please excuse my photos. I left my camera at home and had to resort to my phone!
We started our day at Kudzu. If you’re in the Atlanta area. Check out this antique mall. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
The next couple of photos are from my favorite booth. There are so many things that I will definitely be going back for. They have a blog too! Check them out here.
Pretty vintage furniture, embroidery, and accessories for your home. I was in LOVE.
This was one of my favorite finds of the day. It’s a vintage hotel key holder. I am always drawn to anything with little compartments, hooks, or interesting cubby holes. This is right up my alley.
This booth had lots of industrial type pieces that have been modified into furniture. I really like this sofa/bench piece.
Our Adventure Day was a lot of fun. Dustin ended up taking home a couple treasures, and I have some fun ideas for upcoming craft projects. It was a pretty great day all around.
