Barstool Repair & Refinish : Part Two

Posted by Ashlea . Filed under Antiques, Crafts, Life | No Comments

Our weekend weather here in Georgia was perfect. I had a great day working in the garage on some of my current projects.

I finally had a chance to finish up the little stools I started a couple of weeks ago. I got one completely finished. . .and was so excited to see how it turned out.

I love the fabric I chose. It’s so springy and bright.

So then, as soon as I finished the first stool, I started to finish the second.

That’s when this happened…

Yep. It was a sad, sad moment. This stool needed a bit more work than the other one. So I broke out the wood glue and started trying to repair the loose pieces. The next thing I know, snap! So now, instead of a pair, . . .there is only one! Oh well, at least that one is as cute as I hoped!

I also wanted to give you a sneak peek into another upcoming project. I got this cabinet a couple of weeks ago in a flea market near by. I want to try a fun color or something different. It looks rough in it’s current state. I thought about maybe a turquoise. . .or possibly a yellow? I might try a glaze, or try a distressed look. . .I’m not sure what to do with it. I would appreciate any suggestions!
