I’ve been reading up on some of the recaps from Alt Design Summit through out the last couple of days. The experience was a wonderful one to say the least. I spent 2 days surrounded by hundreds of other creative, inspiring bloggers. Session after session I took notes and tried to soak in as much knowledge and advice as I could. I’m really excited to use the things I’ve learned.
Our trip started early Tuesday morning in Nashville. I drove up after work Monday, and Joanna and I managed to stay awake all night long working on some final projects. I think the adrenaline and excitement had something to do with the lack of sleep too. We flew out of the Nashville airport at 6:30 Tuesday morning. This was our first flight. . . ever! I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, and more than I expected I would be. The airport experience was a lot less stressful than I imagined it would be, as was the actual flight. We’re definitely pros now!
First impression of Salt Lake City. . . the mountains are unbelievable. I think I’ve said that at least once in every conversation since the trip, but they really are.
We explored for the first 2 days in the city. We walked around downtown, and we rode the UTA Trax, Salt Lake’s rail car. The city was quiet and calm. The weather was pretty much perfect. We shopped at The Gateway, the outdoor mall, complete with massive fire pits and a water show. We visited the beautiful Temple Square, home of the original Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I am so glad that we flew in to Utah early. It was so much fun to explore the city while we had the free time.
That’s all for now. I have so many more photos from Thursday and Friday, so check back later for the rest of the recap!
